Elizabeth Warren Banks Get Wrist Slaps While Drug Dealers Get Jail

WASHINGTON, March 11, 2013 - In a Senate hearing this past week, Elizabeth Warren grilled a Treasury official about a major Wall Street bank (HSBC) that was caught laundering money for Al Quaeda and drug cartels -- repeatedly -- and only got a slap on the wrist.

"If you're caught with an ounce of cocaine, the chances are good that you're going to go to jail...but evidently if you launder nearly a billion dollars for drug cartels, your company pays a fine and you go home and sleep in your own bed at night. I think that's fundamentally wrong."
