Vehicle Strikes Gas Meter

LIBERTY, November 21, 2013 - Around 12:00 Noon on Thursday a vehicle struck a gas meter serving a residence on Lakeland Drive that caused a significant gas leak.

The City of Liberty Fire Department responded and was able to stop the flow of gas.

Traffic on Lakeland Drive was stopped in both directions as firemen were attempting to shut off the flow of gas.

A neighbor told i-dineout.com that this was third or fourth time the gas meter had been struck due to it’s location and close proximity to the edge of the driveway serving the residence in the last twelve years he had lived there.
