Arrests in City Park

LIBERTY, September 4, 2013 – Shortly after 10:00 PM on August 22nd, City of Liberty Police Officers approached a white, Chevy pickup parked near the basketball court with two occupants inside.

According to Detective Jennifer Bowles, the driver of the pickup, Cody Fregia age 19 of Dayton, was observed to have bloodshot eyes and was asked to step out of the vehicle.

Once out of the vehicle a green leafy substance was found on the seat where Fregia was sitting and purple pipe was observed on the floor board.

Fregia was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone.

The passenger in the vehicle, Jacob Tanton age 18 of Liberty was also arrested on the same charge.

Additionally, Fregia was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon after police discovered a large switchblade in his pocket.

Both were transported to the Liberty County Jail.
