Accident on SH 321 in Dayton
DAYTON, March 22, 2013 - A two-vehicle accident occurred on SH 321 north of Dayton at LeBlanc Street near the Dayton Park Apartments around 8:00 PM on Friday night that closed the southbound lanes of SH 321 causing traffic in the northbound lanes to back up as people were traveling north on their way home.
According to Officer Bill Griffin of the Dayton Police Department a black Chevy driven by Corry Carter age 30 of Dayton was traveling south on SH 321 and crashed into the rear of a silver Mercury sedan that was slowing down to make a left turn onto LeBlanc Street.
The black Chevy’s two passengers were Edan Detiege age 26 and a small child.
The driver of the Mercury was Hope Brown age 32 of Dayton and three children.
Liberty County EMS responded to the scene and checked out the occupants of the vehicles, however no one required transport to the hospital.
According to Officer Griffin Corry Carter received citations for Failure to Control Speed and no Driver’s License.
The owner of the vehicle, Loria Rollins of Dayton will receive a citation for allowing an unlicensed driver to driver her vehicle.
