Former Businessman, Republican Candidate and Minister Arrested
LIBERTY, April 30, 2013 - On Tuesday, April 29, 2013, former Liberty resident Edward Ross Shauberger, age 58, was arrested in San Antonio, TX, after being indicted by a Liberty County Grand Jury.
The two indictments were for Sexual Assault of a Child, which is a 2nd Degree Felony.
Shauberger remains in a San Antonio jail awaiting transport back to Liberty County.
Shauberger has previously been indicted by a Liberty County Grand Jury in a multi-count indictment for Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Misapplication of Fiduciary Property and Theft of Property.
A member of the Oak Island Baptist Church, where Shauberger was Pastor, made the following public statement concerning Shauberger and his wife Cynthia some months ago published on yellowpages.com.
"Eddie Shauberger sexually assaulted his teenage daughter in the parsonage there at the Oak Island Baptist Church and his other daughters in Liberty Texas.
Almost two years ago Shauberger's wife and teenage daughter left in the middle of the night after Shauberger was found in bed with his daughter. CPS investigation soon came after.
The church there has been defiled by Eddie Shauberger.
Thank God Shauberger is gone.
We at the church have waited for so long.
We welcome new members and ask that the damage Shauberger did will not be a reflection upon our church.
