Three-Vehicle Accident on US 90
DAYTON, March 15, 2013 - A three-vehicle accident occurred on US 90 on the first bridge east of Dayton in the Trinity River Bottom around 9:30 AM on Friday.
According to Dayton Police Officer Chris Duos who investigated the accident the chain reaction collision occurred when the roll back wrecker operated by Terrell’s Auto Parts lost a large metal tool box in the roadway in front of on coming traffic.
The wrecker was driven by Keith Powell age 23 of Dayton.
A green pickup, driven by Alvin Johnson age 32 of Madison, TN, collided with the tool box during emergency braking and in turn a Chrysler sedan struck the pickup. A black Nissan crossover then ran into the rear of the Chrysler sedan.
The driver of the Chrysler sedan, Veronica Davis age 36 of Hull, was transported by Liberty County EMS to an area hospital suffering from a back injury.
The driver of the Nissan, Thomas Latchie age 38 of Fort Worth suffered injuries to his arm from the air bag deployment in his vehicle.
Keith Powell received a citation for Failure to Secure Load.
All vehicles were insured.
