Motorcycle Accident on Beaumont Ave.

LIBERTY, January 23, 2013 – According to Liberty Police the management of Empty Pockets Saloon on Beaumont Ave. notified authorities of and unruly, intoxicated bar patron who was attempting to pick fights with customers of the establishment causing a disturbance.

When the unruly man learned that the police had been notified and were on the way to respond to the call, he immediately fled saloon, got on his motorcycle without a helmet and left the establishment traveling eastbound on Beaumont Ave.

The man only made it about two blocks on his Harley Sportster when he crashed and was ejected from the bike.

The man driving the motorcyle, Darin Lee Rienhardt age 29 of Liberty, was found unconscious in the roadway, without a helmet having suffered a head injury and was bleeding from the ears.

The City of Liberty Ambulance responded to the scene and transported the man to the helipad at the fire station where he was transferred to the care of Life Flight who transported Rienhardt to Houston for treatment of his injuries by air.

According to Officer Frank Longoria who conducted the investigation for the police department, the accident occurred around 9:20 PM Wednesday night.
