Sue Park Receives National Historic Preservation Recognition Award
LIBERTY, March 5, 2013 - Susan Scheurer Seaberg presented Sue Richardson Park with the Historic Preservation Recognition Award at the February meeting of the Libertad Chapter. This included a certificate and a pin. The award is designed to recognize worthy local individuals and groups for outstanding achievements in all area of historic preservation.

Mrs. Park has been active in the Dayton community for 30+ years. She is a charter member of the Dayton Historical Society formed in 1983. An outstanding example of her dedication to preserving history is the "Old School" of Dayton. This effort began in 2000 and involved extensive restoration of the building, archival preservation of pictures and artifacts. Mrs. Park was an outstanding member of the Society, spearheading fundraising efforts and providing a great deal of the knowledge and know-how for the restoration project.
The Libertad Chapter are extremely proud of Mrs. Park and honor her efforts to give back to her community by treasuring traditions and history.
