Man Arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance

DAYTON, September 23, 2013 - On Wednesday, September 18, 2013 the owner of Trinity Valley Tractors on SH 146 in Dayton called the Dayton PD to advise there was a suspicious person at the business and requested an officer check by due to past burglaries at the location.

The responding officer confronted David Carey Chandler age 33 and asked to see his driver’s license.  Chandler advised the officer that he was taking pictures for a research project. Chandler’s driver’s license was found to be not valid.

Dayton Officers then requested consent to search Chandler’s vehicle whereupon they found Methamphetamine along with a spoon and a syringe with several pills.

Chandler was taken into custody charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a Second Degree Felony and Possession of a Controlled Substance PG-3>28 grams which is a class “A” Misdemeanor and transported him to the Liberty County Jail.
