Timely Message from Emergency Management

LIBERTY, September 16, 2013 -Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Branch moments age issued the following timely message.

I just completed a conference call with the National Weather Service in regards to the area of disturbed weather in the Gulf of Mexico. The bottom line is that the scenarios range from no development of the system, to the possibility of a Tropical Storm forming in the Gulf over the weekend. The possible tracks range from Mexico to Louisiana.

With that said, it is important that everyone monitor your local weather source over the weekend in order to stay informed on this area of concern. The Liberty County Office of Emergency Management will issue statements if warranted.

This is a great time to double check your family hurricane preparedness plan and it is also a good time to sign up for our text and email notification system called NIXLE.

NIXLE is available free of charge and you can register your cell phone by texting your zipcode to 888777, or you can go to www.nixle.com and register both your cell phone and email address. Register now to receive emergency information from the Liberty County Office of Emergency Management.
