Severe Weather Threat Tuesday and Wednesday

LIBERTY, January 7, 2013 - Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Branch today advised of the potential for severe weather on Tuesday and Wednesday. The public is advised to stay alert and monitor weather forecasts.

Summary of Weather Threats

• Flooding: Widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain expected Tuesday and Wednesday with locally higher amounts in the 4 to 7 inch range; Flash flooding possible during the storm, flooding of main stem rivers possible later in the week depending on where heaviest rain falls

• Damaging winds and tornado threat…mainly late Tuesday night and Wednesday

• Sea fog formation possible over waters and adjacent coastal areas as moist high-dewpoint air passes over relatively cold waters
