Severe Weather Threat Tuesday and Wednesday
LIBERTY, January 7, 2013 - Liberty County Emergency Management Coordinator Tom Branch today advised i-dineout.com of the potential for severe weather on Tuesday and Wednesday. The public is advised to stay alert and monitor weather forecasts.
Summary of Weather Threats
• Flooding: Widespread 2 to 4 inches of rain expected Tuesday and Wednesday with locally higher amounts in the 4 to 7 inch range; Flash flooding possible during the storm, flooding of main stem rivers possible later in the week depending on where heaviest rain falls
• Damaging winds and tornado threat…mainly late Tuesday night and Wednesday
• Sea fog formation possible over waters and adjacent coastal areas as moist high-dewpoint air passes over relatively cold waters
