Vehicles Collide US 90 at SH 146 Dayton

DAYTON, June 1, 2013 - Around 2:00 PM on Saturday a major accident occurred on US 90 at SH 146 in Dayton.

The Dayton Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene to manage traffic control and Liberty County EMS transported the injured to area hospitals.

According to Dayton Police a Ford pickup was traveling west on US 90 and attempted a left turn onto SH 146 when a Jeep traveling eastbound on US 90 crashed into the pickup.

There were two adults and three children riding in the pickup and one adult riding in the Jeep.

At first, according to Dayton Police both drivers claimed they had the green light and there were no witnesses to contradict either of the driver’s stories.

After additional investigation Dayton Police will issue the driver of the Jeep, Elizabeth Alvarado of Houston a citation for Disreguarding a Red Light, after a witness came forward and spoke to police.

Both vehicles were insured.
