Assault at Empty Pockets Saloon

LIBERTY, October 29, 2013 - Around 10:24 PM on Tuesday the City of Liberty Ambulance and Police Department were dispatched to the Empty Pockets Saloon on Beaumont Ave. for an assault victim.

Upon arrival and investigation Officer Maddox of stated that a customer of the saloon had too much to drink and the barkeeper closed his tab. The man was identified as Jason Peters who became upset when cut off from his alcohol. He went outside the business and waited. When an uninvolved man came out of the bar identified as Christopher Collier age 37 and started walking to his car Peters attacked him because he was upset and thought Collier had come out to fight him. Upon arrival of police Peters had fled the scene.

City of Liberty EMS treated Collier at the scene and Collier refused transport to the hospital and was released to his wife to go home.

The investigation into the incident is on going according to Officer Maddox.
