Angel Tree Program of Liberty County Sheriff's Department

LIBERTY, December 23, 2013 - Thanks to a lot of hard work on the part of so many people at the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department and the help of the caring citizens of Liberty County, over 170 economically disadvantaged children will know that a Merry Christmas really is possible because they experienced it today as “Santa” and his “Elves”, from the Sheriff’s Department, delivered many gifts and joy to these happy and smiling kids.

L to R: Shirley Jackson, Lisa Garcia, Vita O’Reilly, Sherry Walton, Sgt. Brett Audilet (Santa), Sheriff Bobby Rader, Capt. Crystal Pierce, Cpl. Christine Taylor and Capt. Don Neyland.

Our Liberty County citizens stepped up the plate and bought gifts based on the information from the “Angels” taken from the Christmas tree in the Sheriff Department’s lobby over the past few weeks. These gifts were then wrapped and delivered by “Santa’s helpers” so that some families will have a Christmas to remember.

Once again, the Sheriff’s Department wants to thank everyone that picked up an “Angel” and bought the much needed gifts as well as the media outlets that
helped get the word out to the public. Without such joint teamwork the “Angel Tree” program would not have been successful.
