John Kolin Allison Indicted

LIBERTY, February 12, 2013 - Documents held in the Liberty County District Clerk’s Office indicate that a Liberty County Grand Jury has indicted John Kolin Allison age 21 of Linden Street in Liberty, TX for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon a second degree Felony as a result of his involvement in an auto train collision on US 90 at FM 1909 on January 12, 2012 that resulted in the death of Allison’s passenger James William Hotaling a student at Liberty High School.

According to Law Enforcement investigating the accident at the time, it appeared that Allison as the driver of the Ford Sport Trac disregarded the signal lights and crossing arms attempting to cross the tracks when the collision that claimed Hotaling’s life occurred.

Allison was transported to Houston by Life Flight as a result of the injuries he sustained in the accident.

According to Court Records the indictment of Allison was not served becoming public record until Tuesday, February 12, 2013.
