Summer Jobs at Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge
ANAHUAC April 8, 2013 - Anahuac National Wildlife Refuge is seeking applications from adventurous young women and men ages 15 to 18. Positions are available through the Youth Conservation Corps program and are a great way to get to know your local Wildlife Refuge. No prior experience is necessary but participants must be legal citizens of the United States.
Crew members will work 40 hours per week for $7.25 an hour starting June 10th through August 2nd, 2013. Work will be conducted outside and can be physically demanding. Typical duties will include trail/butterfly garden maintenance, erosion abatement, fence construction, clerical work and various restoration and maintenance projects. Educational field trips and training sessions will also be conducted throughout the summer.
Selection will be on a random basis from the list of qualified applicants. Young adults interested in wildlife careers, summer employment or job experience, are encouraged to apply.
