Accident 2500 Block of US 90 Liberty
LIBERTY, October 3, 2012 - According to Officer Rolando Aguilar, shortly before 10:00 AM a witnesses saw a maroon, Dodge Intrepid, traveling west on US 90 with a driver who appeared to be asleep at the wheel.
The Dodge sedan drifted across the eastbound lanes of traffic, jumped the curb and crashed into a tree in a field on the south side of the roadway across from the Scottish Inn and Suites Motel in the 2500 block of US 90.
The City of Liberty Fire Department and EMS were dispatched to the scene of the accident as the driver was pinned inside the wreckage of the his vehicle.
Firefighters utilized extraction tools to gain access to the interior of the vehicle and rescue the driver.
Eastbound lanes of US 90 were closed to traffic during the rescue, investigation and clean up of this accident.
City of Liberty Ambulance transported Cody Wayne Harryman age 24 of Liberty to the helipad at the fire station where he was transferred to the care of Life Flight and flown to Hermann Hospital in Houston by air ambulance.
Little in known about the cause of this accident at the present time as the investigation is continuing, according to Officer Aguilar.
Cody Wayne Haryman in known to the City of Liberty Police Department having been previously arrested for Possession of Marijuana according to the DPS Crime Records Service.
The vehicle Harryman was driving is registered to Rhonda Harryman of 3811 Sandune Rd. She shares this address with Cody Wayne Harryman from the address on his driver's license according to Public Records.
No citations have been issued as yet in this accident and the vehicle was insured.
