Firefighters Conduct Training in Liberty
LIBERTY, August 29, 2012 - Tuesday afternoon presented an opportunity for Firefighters from Liberty and Hardin to conduct Firefighter training on a full size burning structure that can be a rare and unique occurrence.
Although abandoned structures exist many are not suitable for this activity because they are in close proximity to other structures as safety is a major concerning when conducting these training exercises.
Firefighters and equipment arrived at the selected structure on Washington Street near Navigation late Tuesday afternoon and Firefighters practiced putting out fires inside the confined spaces inside the wood framed abandoned structure.
Additionally Hardin Firefighters used the opportunity to practice using a dump tank to pump water from for fighting the fire.
