Accident US 90 in Dayton
DAYTON, April 23, 2012 - Early Monday afternoon there was a major accident on US 90 in front of the Dayton Feed and Fertilizer Store near the Dayton Hill that sent one person to a Houston hospital by Life Flight as a result of his injuries.
According to City of Dayton Police Officer Kenny Browles a white Chevy pickup pulling a trailer was traveling east on US 90 attempting to make a right turn into the driveway of the Dayton Feed Store when it was struck in the rear by a black Toyota Camry that traveled into the inside lane and side swiped a passing silver Nissan Altima.
The driver of the Camry was not wearing a seat belt according to Officer Browles and his head shattered the windshield resulting in serious injuries.
Liberty County EMS responded to the scene and transported Justin Mathew Theriot age 21 of Dayton, the driver of the Camry, to a landing zone manned by the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department where he was transferred to the care of Life Flight and evacuated to a Houston Hospital.
The driver of the silver Nissan was Jodie Estelle Cheatham age 30 of Liberty.
The driver of the Chevy pickup, James Dean Krajefska age 36 of Baytown and his passenger were not injured. However the pickup and trailer suffered extensive damage as a result of the accident.
