Three Arrested in Early Morning Disturbance

LIBERTY, July 28, 2012 – Around 1:00 AM on Saturday the City of Liberty Police Department was notified of a disturbance in the parking lot of the trailer park on North Main Street across from the Hull State Bank in Liberty.

According to Officer Kyle Cornelius Felix Mario Gomez age 43, a resident of the trailer park, was returning home and attempted to turn into the driveway when he ran his vehicle into the ditch.
Kelly Taylor age 36 of Hardin driving a Black Ford Pickup and accompanied by her boy friend Juan Carlos Varela age 31 of Liberty decided to be good Samaritans and pull Gomez out of the ditch.

In the process of doing so Gomez ran into Taylor’s pickup that started a disturbance among the three in the parking lot.

Ater police were called, a complainant in the trailer park reported that Taylor was hiding beer bottles on the property.

Officer Cornelius stated that upon arrival the strong odor of alcohol was present at the scene.

After conducting standard field sobriety tests on all three all were determined to be intoxicated and taken into custody charged with Public Intoxication and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
