Sisters from Crosby Attract Attention at Liberty Wal-Mart

LIBERTY, November 19, 2012 - On Sunday night around 9:00 PM two sisters from Crosby arrived at the Liberty Wal-Mart and soon attracted the attention of loss prevention personnel and the Liberty Police Department.

Officer Elizabeth Polasek was called to investigate a case of shoplifting allegedly performed by Jennifer Sims age 38 of Crosby.

According to Officer Polasek, Jennifer Sims proceeded past the point of sale with approximately $270.00 worth of food and clothing items and exited the store without paying for them.

During this investigation, Officer Kyle Cornelius located Sims’ sister, Betty Wagner Gainer age 52 of Victoria who is now staying in Crosby with her sister.

According to Cornelius, Sims failed to indentify herself but soon it was discovered she had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Chambers County.

Both women were placed under arrest and transported to the Liberty County Jail, Sims being charged with Organized Retail Theft.
