Robbery Resulting in Injuries Sunday Night

LIBERTY,  December 10, 2012 - The City of Liberty Police Department is investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred at the Panther Stop Convenience Store on US 90 at Bowie Street in Liberty late Sunday night as the store owner was closing for the evening.

According to Officer Cedric McDuffie an unknown black male confronted the store owner demanding money and struck the owner about the head with a tire tool resulting in head injuries.

The City of Liberty EMS responded to the store and transported its’ owner to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center in Liberty for treatment of his injuries.

The suspect in the case got away with an undetermined amount of money and the store owner’s car heading eastbound on US 90 from the store.

Early Monday morning law enforcement located the storeowners Honda sedan in the parking lot of the Inn at Liberty motel and recovered it.

Liberty Police are devoting significant resources to this aggravated assault and robbery with the victim having sustained injuries.
