Pair Arrested for Organized Retail Theft
LIBERTY, December 11, 2012 - Officer Josh Cummins and Officer Chance Maddox of the City of Liberty Police Department received a report of two shoplifters and the car they were driving. The tipster also told the Officer they were at the Burke’s Outlet Store in the North Main Shopping Center.
The Officers located the suspects around 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at Burke’s Outlet. In speaking at the Burke’s Outlet Store, one of the suspects admitted to shoplifting from the Dollar General Store, another store in the shopping center.
The pair was taken into custody and then the vehicle they were in was inventoried. A considerable amount of merchandise was found inside the vehicle from Dollar General, Family Dollar, Burke’s Outlet and Baskins.
Arrested and transported to the Liberty County Jail from the scene charged with Organized Retail Theft, a 3rd degree feiony, were Doris Redmond age 45 of Moss Bluff and Lynn Williams age 54 of Ames. The amount of merchandise and its’ value make this charge a Felony in this case. Additionally Lynn Williams was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Doris Redmond has a length criminal conviction record on numerous charges from 1987 through 2011 including Burglary of a Habitaion, Forgery, Aggravated Perjury, Burglary, Larceny, Theft, DWI and Criminal Trespass among other charges and has been arrested by Houston PD, Dayton PD, Liberty PD and the Liberty County Sheriff's Department.
Lynn Williams has a lengthy criminal conviction record as well on charges from 1976 through 2012 including Theft, Larceny, Delivery of Cocaine and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
