Constable Pafford has professionalized the constable’s office; he has obtained new technology and equipment with grant money that has benefited the entire county; he has pioneered new programs that saved tax money and enhanced public safety; and he has a staff of highly qualified and pro-active deputies.
Constable Pafford has administered more than $118,000 in federal and state grant money that has provided essential equipment to all six constable precincts and the sheriff’s office. This grant money has provided lifesaving body armor, new radio systems, crime scene cameras, and much more.
Constable Pafford established a driver’s safety program designed to reduce dangerous driving and vehicle crashes within the county. Within the 90-day pilot period this program proved to be very effective and it nearly funded itself with the penalties paid by dangerous drivers who were apprehended.
Constable Pafford has bid for the constable’s office to provide police services to the Dayton school district, which would have saved the taxpayers more than $150,000 during the past two fiscal years. Constable Pafford has advocated the use of local law enforcement instead of Harris County constables, which costs the taxpayers more.
Constable Pafford and the Precinct 4 deputies are active in the community and are often the first to arrive to in-progress major crimes. Because of these proactive efforts, the Precinct 4 Constable’s Office is routinely responsible for the apprehension of violent offenders, burglars, and drug traffickers, as well as, drug related seizures.
Constable Pafford has efficiently handled court security and process, while providing other essential police services to the community, with very limited funds and resources. He has significant experience and training with the duties of a constable, he is very familiar with the needs of the community, and he is diligent in addressing those needs.
The professionalism of the Precinct 4 Constable’s Office has been recognized by other law enforcement agencies and this office is routinely called to assist other federal, state, and local agencies with investigations and emergencies.
