Three Arrested at Liberty Convenience Store

LIBERTY, July 5, 2012 – Shortly after midnight on July 4, 2012, Officer Frank Longoria observed a Ford pickup traveling slowly through the river bottom on US 90 and noticed that it failed to maintain a single lane.

Officer Longoria stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of the Happy Chap Convenience Store at the intersection of FM 563 and US 90 in Liberty.

The Ford pickup with dealer tags was occupied by three young men from Beaumont who were coming back from Dayton after attending a rodeo.

The driver of the pickup was identified as Jesus Catillo age 25 and was taken into custody for having No Driver’s License and No Liability Insurance.

Castillo’s two passengers, Rogelio Martinez-Rivera age 22 and Raphael Diaz age 19 were taken into custody for Public Intoxication.

All were transported to the Liberty County Jail.

Castillo identified the owner of the pickup as a friend of his from Dayton known only as Pacho.
