HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

LIBERTY, August 27, 2012 - TODAY AND TONIGHT RICH GULF MOISTURE STREAMING ASHORE WILL TRIGGER SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TODAY. AREAL COVERAGE WILL BE GREATEST THIS MORNING IN JACKSON...MATAGORDA AND WHARTON COUNTIES. BY AFTERNOON THE GREATEST AREAL COVERAGE WILL SPREAD INLAND TO AREAS GENERALLY WEST OF A TRINITY TO WALLER TO EAGLE LAKE LINE. DANGEROUS CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING AND BRIEF DOWNPOURS OF RAIN ARE THE MAIN THREATS.

MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE THROUGH TUESDAY. TROPICAL STORM ISAAC IS FORECAST TO MOVE INLAND ALONG THE THE NORTH CENTRAL GULF COAST STATES WHICH WILL KEEP SOUTHEAST TEXAS DRY. A WESTWARD SHIFT IN THE FORECAST PATH WOULD RESULT IN MUCH GREATER CHANCE FOR HAZARDOUS WEATHER FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS.
