ORANGE COUNTY, March 12, 2011 - THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HOUSTON/GALVESTON HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WARNING FOR THE FOLLOWING RIVERS...
TRINITY RIVER IN LIBERTY AFFECTING CHAMBERS AND LIBERTY COUNTIES
FOR TRINITY RIVER AT LIBERTY...MOSS BLUFF, MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECASTED.
Current release at the dam is 40,500 cfs.. Romayor currently at 30.58, expected to crest at 32.3 , Liberty currently at 21.3 expected to crest at 28 ft and Moss Bluff is at 10.74 and expected to crest at 16.8
HEAVY RAIN OVER THE LAST FOUR DAYS HAS LEFT AREA RIVERS SWOLLEN AND RESERVOIRS FULL. RELEASES FROM LAKE LIVINGSTON WILL PRODUCE A RISE ON TRINITY RIVER.
PERSONS WITH INTERESTS ALONG THESE STREAMS SHOULD KEEP ALERT TO RISING WATER AND TAKE ALL PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT THEIR PROPERTY. DO NOT DRIVE OR WALK INTO FLOODED AREAS THE DEPTH AND WATER VELOCITY COULD BE TOO GREAT FOR YOU TO CROSS SAFELY. MOTORISTS SHOULD AVOID ANY WATER COVERED ROADS AND FIND AN ALTERNATE ROUTE. LIVESTOCK AND EQUIPMENT SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE FLOOD PLAIN IMMEDIATELY.
