HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK

LIBERTY, February 12, 2012 - MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES ARE FORECAST TO MOVE THROUGH THE REGION ON MONDAY AND AGAIN WEDNESDAY. BOTH ARE EXPECTED TO TRIGGER SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

MONDAY...LOCALIZED RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE THOUGH WIDESPREAD 1/2 TO 1 INCH SHOULD BE THE NORM DUE TO FAST MOVING STORMS. SHOULD ENOUGH INSTABILITY DEVELOP...A TORNADO AND WIND DAMAGE THREAT WILL ALSO BE POSSIBLE. THOUGH THE CHANCE OF THIS HAPPENING IS NOT PARTICULARLY HIGH...THE SOUTHERN HALF OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS WOULD BE MOST AT RISK FROM THE MORNING HOURS THROUGH THE EARLY AFTERNOON AS THIS IS WHERE A WARM FRONT WILL PROBABLY BE SITUATED.

WEDNESDAY...ANOTHER UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE ACROSS TEXAS. THIS APPEARS TO BE THE NEXT CHANCE FOR SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL AND STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMSAS A PACIFIC FRONT MOVES INTO THE REGION. LOW LEVEL MOISTURE MAY BE HIGHER AHEAD OF THIS SYSTEM AND HAZARDOUS WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TO BE MONITORED DURING THIS TIME.
