Ladd Speaks for LCGS
LIBERTY, May 21, 2012 - Local genealogist and author Kevin Ladd spoke to the Liberty County Genealogical Society at their meeting Tuesday May 15 meeting. Mr. Ladd spoke about the early settlers and land owners of Liberty and surrounding counties.
The relationships between the pioneer families was explored and included the early settlers descendants, which included several audience members. Many of the Liberty county pioneers were acquainted or related before they moved here. This information can be invaluable when researching family history. The presentation inspired a lively question and answer session after Mr. Ladd's presentation.
The Liberty County Genealogical Society meets the third Tuesday of each month at 10AM in the DAR Meeting Room behind the historic Cleveland-Partlow House on Grand Avenue in Liberty. The society has several new speakers scheduled for the summer and encourages members and guests to attend.
