Attempted Aggravated Robbers Captured
LIBERTY, October 12, 2012 - On Friday Liberty Police Department received a phone call from a male who advised that he was walking down Martin Luther King at the corner of Fannin when a white Cadillac with two males had pulled up and demanded money. When passenger demanded money, he displayed a black pistol.
The victim did not give money and walked away. The white Cadillac left West on Martin Luther King headed towards HWY 90.
Liberty Police Department contacted Dayton Police Department and advised them of the vehicle description. Dayton Police Department observed a white Cadillac matching the description and conducted a traffic stop at 308 N Winfree in Dayton Tx.
Officers with the Liberty Police Department arrived at 308 N Winfree in Dayton to conduct an investigation. During the investigation, the black gun was recovered and found to be an air soft gun.
The driver of the white Cadillac was identified as Julian Sanchez age 20 of Liberty and the passenger was identified as Jae-Roger Edwards age 21 of Liberty. Both males were arrested for attempted aggravated robbery a second-degree felony and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
