Margaret Black to Speak at LCGS

LIBERTY, August 12, 2012 - The Liberty County Genealogical Society is pleased to announce that Ms. Margaret Black will be the guest speaker at their August 21 meeting. Ms. Blacks topic is: "What's Special about the 1940 Census."

The 1940 census was just released to the public and Ms. Black will address the many differences found in this census and those previous.

Ms. Black is an indexer and arbitrator for Family Search with over 40,000 of those records devoted to the 1940 census. Ms. Black is a member of Daughters of the American Revolution and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. She is a Professor of Business at San Jacinto College North. The Society thanks San Jacinto College North for allowing Ms. Black the time for this presentation.

The Liberty County Genealogical Society meets the third Tuesday of each month at 10AM in the DAR meeting room behind the historic Cleveland Partlow House on Grand Avenue in Liberty.
