Liberty Resident Arrrested for Terroristic Threat Impairing a Government Building

LIBERTY, June 6, 2012 - On June 6, 2012 at approximately 8:00 am, the City of Liberty Police Department received a 911 call in reference to a bomb threat. The caller advised that there were explosives in vehicles at two schools in Liberty and the Liberty County Court House.

Officers with the City of Liberty Police Department were dispatched to the schools following the call and Liberty County Sheriff’s Office was contacted with information for the Liberty County Courthouse. Police Department Officers searched the schools and a number of vehicles. During their investigation officers learned the identity of the caller and reasons for the call led the Investigators to believe the call was a hoax.

Police Department Investigators requested a warrant for Theobert Gerard Jannise age 32 from Liberty. The arrest warrant for Terroristic Threat Impairing a Government Building, which is a third degree felony was issued by Justice of the Peace Bobby Rader.
