Liberty Man Arrested for Making Threatening Phone Calls

LIBERTY, March 26, 2012 - According to Investigator Kenneth Taylor of the City of Liberty Police Department School Resource Officer Tammy Bishop was receiving threatening phone calls at the school from Theobert Gerard Jannise, Jr. age 31 of 1850 N. San Jacinto threatening members of the school staff.

Jannise’s mother works at the school and Officer Bishop received a call that Theobert Jannise was attempting to run a car off the road on North Travis Street.

Officers responded to the call and Officer Jennifer Bowles spotted his vehicle on Texas near Jefferson Drive. Officers followed the Jannise’s vehicle to his residence on North San Jacinto where he got out of the car and went inside the house.

Officers followed finding Jannise in the bathroom and placed him under arrest.

According to Investigator Taylor they suspected Jannise was suffering the effects of methamphetamine intoxication or perhaps intoxication from some other controlled substance.

Janise was transported to the Liberty County Jail making threats to the transport Officer on charges of Reckless Driving and Harassment.
