Major Accident North Main at Governor’s Road
LIBERTY, June 26, 2012 – A major accident involving two 18-wheelers and a pickup truck occurred on North Main Street near FM 1011 Tuesday morning around 10:41 AM.
According to Officer Rolando Aguilar of the City of Liberty Police Department an 18-wheeler operated by R & R Trucking was traveling south on SH 146 and attempted a left turn into the driveway of Baker Hughes directly in the path of a northbound 18-wheeler.
The northbound Kenworth 18-wheeler took evasive action to the left and clipped the rear portion of the trailer on the turning 18-wheeler. It then made contact and collided with a Maroon Chevy Pickup.
The driver of the pickup was the only person who was transported to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center in Liberty for treatment of their injuries.
According to Officer Aguilar all vehicles were insured and the driver of the R & R Trucking 18-Wheeler will be issued a citation for Failed to Yield Right of Way Turning Left.
North Main Street at the sight of the accident was closed to traffic during the cleanup of this accident and traffic was detoured onto FM 1011 heading north toward Hardin.
