Man Under Arrest Sprays Jail Personnel with Pepper Spray

LIBERTY, February 8, 2012 - According to County Records on January 22, 2012, while being booked into the Liberty County Jail Michael Glenn, Jr. is alleged to have assaulted one of the LCSO Deputies, after taking the Deputy’s pepper spray from him, and sprayed booking clerk Tena Shepherd as well.

The matter was investigated by the LCSO and on January 26, 2012, was presented to the Liberty County District Attorney’s Office for possible criminal prosecution on the felony charges of Aggravated Assault of a Public Servant, Assault of a Public Servant, and Taking a Weapon from an Officer. The District Attorney’s Office accepted the case with a request that further investigation be conducted.

Mr. Glenn is currently charged with these offenses by way of Complaint and the case is awaiting completion of the additional investigation and presentation to the Liberty County Grand Jury.
