Liberty Woman Evacuated to Houston after Major Accident
LIBERTY, July 1, 2012 – A Liberty woman was transported by Life Flight from the SH 146 Bypass near the Chrysler Dodge Auto Dealership late Sunday night after a major accident according to City of Liberty Police Officer Jennifer Bowles.
The accident occurred at 10:28 PM Sunday night when a silver Chrysler sedan traveling south on SH 146 Bypass ran off the roadway to the left near the intersection at Beaumont Ave.
The vehicle traveled through the ditch until it crashed into the culvert under a private driveway of the auto dealership.
City of the Liberty Fire Department and EMS responded to the scene and a difficult and time consuming extraction of the woman from the wreckage of her vehicle commenced.
The woman’s lower extremities were trapped under the dashboard of the vehicle.
According to Officer Bowles Life Flight landed at the accident scene on SH 146 Bypass the flew to driver, Brittany Farmer at 25 of Liberty to Houston for treatment of her injuries.
The accident remains under investigation and little is known concerning it’s cause at this time. Citations in this accident are pending the completion of the investigation.
