Facebook Party Gets Out of Control

LIBERTY, July 6, 2012 - Late Thursday night into early Friday morning young people from as far away as Cypress, Spring, Humble and the Woodlands desended on a home off FM 2830 in Raywood for a party that was promoted through social media namely Facebook, according to sources.

The party became large and the according to sources, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Department was called to break up the party which sent party goers flocking into Liberty. Some say the crowd was estimated at near 800 guests.

According to law enforcement, the party was based on a movie called Project X. According to Wikipeida, Project X is a 2012 comedy film directed by Nima Nourizadeh in his feature film debut, written by Michael Bacall and Matt Drake based on a story by Bacall, and produced by The Hangover director Todd Phillips. The plot follows Thomas (Thomas Mann), Costa (Oliver Cooper) and J.B. (Jonathan Daniel Brown), three friends who plan to gain popularity by throwing a party, a plan which quickly escalates out of their control.

After the party was broken up in Raywood, party goers arrived in Liberty and the Liberty Police were called to the Chevron Store on US 90 at FM 563 for a disturbance in the parking lot of the store.

Then a call came from the Whataburger where among carloads of young people from out of town two were found to being pouring beer into cups, consuming alcohol in the parking lot and field sobriety tests indicated they were intoxicated according to Officer Kyle Cornelius.

Arrested for Public Intoxication at the Whataburger around 1:30 AM were Juan Diego Jimenez age 17 of Spring Cypress, TX and Ashton Kyle Cantu age 17 also of Spring Cypress.

Shortly after the call to Whataburger a second call to police came from the McDonald’s when some in the rowdy crowd began jumping on cars in the parking lot. Police arrived to find Luciano Venegas age 18 of Cleveland, TX and Tyler Biggs age 18 also of Cleveland intoxicated and arrested them for Public Intoxication transporting them to the Liberty County Jail. Additionally, Biggs was also arrested for an outstanding warrant for injury to a child.
