Man Arrested for Evading Arrest
LIBERTY, November 30, 2012 - The City of Liberty Police Department informed i-dineout.com today that Darrin Anthony Broussard age 20 of Ames, TX was arrested around 10:30 PM on Thursday for Fleeing or Evading in a Motor Vehicle.
According to Officer Kyle Cornelius a black Lexus sedan pulled out of the Happy Chap on US 90 at FM 563 and headed east with the license plate light not functioning. Trying to affect a traffic stop on the vehicle Officer Cornelius activated his lights a siren near the B J Ford at the SH 146 Bypass. The vehicle refused to yield.
The vehicle with three occupants continued east and pulled into the driveway of a house near Sexton Street after crossing through the intersection at FM 160.
Broussard was arrested at the scene and placed in the rear of the patrol car for transport. Broussard began banging his head on the safety partition in the vehicle and cut his forehead. He was taken to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center for a bandage and later transported to the Liberty County Jail.
