Woman Making Phony Refund Get’s Arrested

LIBERTY, October 30, 2012 - Shortly before 11:00 PM on Monday night, Officer Josh Cummins was dispatched to Wal-Mart in Liberty to investigate a theft allegedly by a Dayton woman who was detained at the store by security personnel.

After talking to witnesses Officer Cummins arrested Justice Michelle Edwards age 17 of Dayton.

According to Officer Cummins Edwards was observed entering the store with a basket and a receipt. She went throughout the store placing items on the receipt in the basket and then presented the items at the Customer Service Counter for a refund.

The refund was made and Wal-Mart personnel were watching as Edwards left the store whereupon she was detained and police summoned.

Edwards was placed in handcuffs, escorted to a waiting patrol car and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
