Accident at US 90 and FM 563

LIBERTY, March 3, 2012 - Friday night a two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of US 90 and the Wallisville Road involving a red pickup and a white pickup. The accident occurred at a time when a train was passing the intersection and the traffic signal lights were flashing in a different manner than normal. It is at periods such as this that accidents frequently occur at this intersection as i-dineout.com has report previously.

The white pickup driven by Ricky Dowless age 53 of Baytown was traveling west on US 90 attempting to make a left turn in front of an eastbound red pickup. The red truck struck the white truck in the intersection.

City of Liberty ambulance responded to the scene and transported the driver of the red truck, James Settles to a Beaumont Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

According to Officer Kyle Cornelius Ricky Dowless will receive a citation for Failed to Yield Right of Way.

Both vehicles were insured.
