Man Arrested after Failing to Identify

LIBERTY, July 8, 2012 - Shortly after 2:00 PM Officer Kyle Cornelius noticed a vehicle with an obstructed license plate traveling on North Main Street. The vehicle made a U-Turn on North Main Street and Officer Cornelius affected a traffic stop on the vehicle in the parking lot of the Pawn Shop near Magnolia Street.

He was using a borrowed car to pick up a friend and became lost.

The driver first identified himself as Donald Gordon age 27. When his age did not match the dated of birth he gave he admitted to Officer Cornelius that his name was actually Derrick Gordon age 22 and further stated that he had an outstanding traffic warrant out of Fort Bend County.

Gordon is originally from Louisiana and has spent time in Fort Bend and Harris Counties. He is currently residing at 415 Davidage Street in Liberty.

Gordon was taken into custody charged with Failure to Identify, Giving False and Fictitious Information and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
