Dayton Chamber and Dayton ISD Form Education Committee

DAYTON, May 8, 2012 - The Dayton Chamber of Commerce has partnered with Dayton ISD and formed an Education Committee. The purpose of this committee is to help students in our community improve and be academically successful. Some of the programs we are introducing for the 2012-2013 school year are:

  • Money management program for high school students – sponsored by Security State Bank
  • Monthly career day sessions with various professionals
  • Scholarship and college application workshops for high school seniors
  • Homework Depot after-school program for all grades

The last program is the one in which we are seeking assistance.

With the cooperation of the City of Dayton and DISD, we will have the after-school study program at the Dayton Community Center. National Honor Society students looking to complete service hours will volunteer to help other students with their homework and/or projects.

The Education Committee is seeking individuals interested in volunteering their time to help as well. If interested, please contact the Dayton Chamber office at (936) 258-2393.
