Major Accident in Dayton
DAYTON, June 16, 2012 – Late Saturday night a major accident occurred at the intersection of North Winfree and US 90 in Dayton near the Jack-In-The-Box.
According to Officer Kole Holden of the Dayton Police Department a Mercury Sedan traveling north on North Winfree disregarded the red light at US 90 and crashing into the White Chevy Tahoe traveling east on US 90. The Tahoe was carrying two adults and one child and rolled over in the intersection.
All three occupants of the Tahoe, driven by Silvia Barrintos, were transported to the hospital and the passenger Mercury suffered a laceration to the knee and was transported to the hospital as well.
All passengers were transported by Liberty County EMS to San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
According to Officer Holden the driver of the Mercury, Tangela Stephens age 26 of Beaumont, received two citations. One citation for Disregarding the Red Light and another for Failure to Prove Financial Responsibility.
US 90 was closed until the accident was cleared and debris removed from the roadway.
