Letter to the Editor

DAYTON, April 11, 2012 - In the past few days, 3 storage buildings at Milentz Storage in Dayton have been stripped clean of owner’s belongings, including mine.

Locks have been cut, or panels removed to gain entry. Several thousand dollars worth of things belonging to me including a utility trailer, Craftsman lawnmower, weed eaters, fishing and hunting items, including firearms, were taken after the lock was cut.

Since there are no cameras, there is no proof as to who took my things.

After having spoken with Detective Headrick of the Dayton Police Department, he said that this is not the first time this has happened, and it is very difficult to prove who took what. It will be left up to this owner to prove what was mine by serial numbers, etc. in the hopes of getting my things back.

The utility trailer has Louisiana license plates, with the number EO425919 on it, and is a primer red in color. It has a loading ramp and is homemade, but does not look it. It measures 4’x8’. The Craftsman lawnmower is green and is a 1500LT model.

These thieves need to be caught and soon. If anyone sees a trailer fitting this description, please contact the Dayton Police at 936-258-7621.
