Car Fire on Trinity River Bridge

LIBERTY, October 3, 2012 – Shortly after 5:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon the City of Liberty Fire Department responded to a car fire on the Trinity River Bridge.

i-dineout.com spoke to the young family who were the occupants of the vehicle who stated they were from La Porte in route to Sengo, TX to visit family with their two small children when they began to smell smoke inside their vehicle.

According to the driver at about this time a motorcycle pulled up beside them and told them their car was on fire.

The fire appeared to originate somewhere in the rear part of the vehicle.

The young family pulled the car over on the bridge and managed to get some of their belongs out of the vehicle before it was fully engulfed in flames. All member of the family got out of the vehicle safely.
