Truck Collides with Bull on US 90
DAYTON, April 4, 2012 - Curtis Trichell, a 24 year old welder and resident of Dayton for the last 9 years, was heading home after getting off of work in his welding truck traveling eastbound on US 90 about a mile east of CR 491 shortly after 1:00 AM.
According to Trichell he was traveling between 60 and 65 miles per hour in the inside, eastbound lane of US 90 and didn’t have time to hit the brakes when his truck struck a brown bull standing in the roadway.
The truck suffered extensive damage and the bull was knocked into the median between the westbound and eastbound lanes of US 90.
The Dayton Police Department investigated the accident and discovered three additional black bulls had escaped their pasture and were standing near the edge of the road a short distance away from the accident scene.
The accident took considerable time to clear and secure the bulls in a nearby pasture.
