Liberty County Mails 38,000 Voter Registration Cards

LIBERTY, April 24, 2012 – According to Tax Assessor Collector Ricky Brown, Liberty County mailed 38,519 voter registration certificates to residents on Thursday, April 8, 2012.

Election officials in Liberty County and round the state had to wait to mail out the certificates until the legal fight over the states’ new legislative and congressional districts was resolved.

Any voter whose name, residence address or mailing address has changed should provide written notice either in person or by mil to the county as soon as possible.

Residents should check the certificates closely for errors. If mistakes are found, corrections can be made on the back of a card, which then should be signed and taken to the Liberty County Tax Assessor Collector’s Office at 1925 Sam Houston in Liberty or mailed to P O Box 1810, Liberty, Texas.

Any registered voter who hasn’t received a certificate by April 25, 2012 should call the office at (936) 336-8683 or (936) 336-4528.
