Fatal Crash on North Main Street
LIBERTY, April 5, 2012 - On Wednesday around 7:30 p.m. the Liberty Police responded to an accident in the 1300 block of N. Main, near Magnolia Street, involving a pickup truck and a motorcycle.
North Main Street was closed in both directions for several hours during the early stages of the accident investigation.
The initial investigation determined that a pickup truck driven by Dylan Clem, age 18 of Liberty was exiting the Main Street carwash onto Main Street, when a motorcycle driven by Jason Paul Lemelle, Age 30, also of Liberty, traveling north, came in contact with the truck.
According to friends at the scene, Dylan Clem is a high school senior scheduled to graduate in May and had recently acquired the Dodge pickup he was driving still having its paper dealer tags.
Mr. Lemelle was transported from the accident scene by City of Liberty EMS to Liberty Dayton Regional Medical Center. Lemelle was pronounced dead upon arrival due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Justice of the Peace Bobby Radar conducted the inquest at the hospital and ordered an autopsy as part of the investigation.
The accident remains under investigation by the Liberty Police Dept., assisted by Troopers with the Department of Public Safety.
