Flood Warning Continues for Trinity River

LIBERTY, April 6, 2012 - On Saturday afternoon around 1:10 PM City of Liberty Animal Control and Liberty Police responded to the Wal-Mart parking lot as a result of a citizen concerned for a dog that had been locked in a vehicle for an extended period of time.

THE FLOOD WARNING CONTINUES FOR THE TRINITY RIVER IN LIBERTY

* UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...OR UNTIL THE WARNING IS CANCELLED.
* AT 0815 AM THURSDAY THE STAGE WAS 27.3 FEET.
* MODERATE FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 26.0 FEET
* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE RISING TO NEAR 27.4 FEET BY THIS
EVENING. ADDITIONAL RISES MAY BE POSSIBLE THEREAFTER.
* AT 27.0 FEET...MODERATE LOWLAND FLOODING BEGINS AS ROADS INTO SEVERAL OUTLYING COMMUNITIES ABOVE LIBERTY ARE CLOSED WITH RESIDENTS IN 5 OR SUBDIVISIONS CUT OFF IF NOT EVACUATED.

* UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...OR UNTIL THE WARNING IS CANCELLED.
* AT 0830 AM THURSDAY THE STAGE WAS 16.5 FEET.
* MINOR FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MINOR FLOODING IS FORECAST.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 15.0 FEET
* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE RISING TO NEAR 16.5 FEET BY THIS
AFTERNOON. ADDITIONAL RISES MAY BE POSSIBLE THEREAFTER.
