Two Women Arrested at Wal-Mart for Organized Retail Theft

LIBERTY, August 6, 2012 - Sunday afternoon the City of Liberty Police Department responded to Wal-Mart in Liberty after receiving a call informing police that two adults and a juvenile had been detained and were accused of theft at the store.

The two women arrested were both from Baytown, one identified as Kiersten Simmons age 17 and Jenese Johnson age 19.

Johnson is expecting a child and the three were involved in selecting baby items and placing them in their purses.

According to Officer Cornelius of the City of Liberty Police Department who investigated the incident, during the event Simmons became hungry and placed some Cheez Whiz and Crackers in her purse.

The women walked passed the point of sale without paying for the items and exited store where they were detained by loss prevention.

The juvenile was released to an adult and Simmons and Johnson were arrested, charged with Organized Retail Theft and transported to the Liberty County Jail.
